Washing Instructions For DTF Transfers

🧼 Washing & Care Instructions for DTF Transfers

Direct To Film (DTF) transfers are extremely durable and vibrant — but proper washing and handling is essential to keep your prints looking new.
Follow these detailed guidelines to ensure maximum life and quality of your Sid DTF transfers.

 🕒 Before the First Wash

  • Allow your garment to cure for at least 24–48 hours after pressing before washing.
  • Make sure the print is completely cooled before folding or packing.
  • Turn the garment inside out before washing — this reduces friction on the print.

 🧺 Washing Instructions

  1. Machine Wash Cold — up to 30°C / 86°F.
Hot water can weaken the adhesive and fade colors.
  2. Use a gentle or delicate cycle.
  3. Use mild detergent (no bleach, no strong chemicals, and no fabric softeners).
  4. Wash similar colors together to avoid dye transfer.
  5. Do not soak for long periods — extended exposure to detergent can break down ink bonds.
  6. Avoid dry cleaning — chemicals can damage the print.

🌬️ Drying Instructions

  • Best option: Hang dry or air dry naturally.
  • If using a dryer, choose low heat / tumble dry low setting.
  • Do not wring or twist the garment — it can cause cracks in the design.
  • Avoid direct sunlight for long hours (can cause fading over time).

🧻 Ironing & Heat Care

  • Always turn the shirt inside out before ironing.
  • Never iron directly on the DTF print surface.
  • If you must iron the print area, place a parchment paper or Teflon sheet between the print and iron.
  • Avoid steam or very high temperatures — use medium heat only.

🧥 Storage Tips

  • Store garments in a cool, dry area away from sunlight.
  • Avoid stacking freshly pressed shirts — let them cure first.
  • Do not fold across the print if possible — hang or roll the garment.

🧾 Expected Durability

With proper care, Sid DTF Transfers can last 50–70+ washes while maintaining full color and stretch.
Quality may vary depending on:

  • Fabric type (cotton, polyester, blends)
  • Heat press accuracy (temperature, pressure, and time)
  • Washing frequency and method
