Art File Requirements

Art File Requirements for DTF Printing

To ensure your DTF transfers print with the highest quality and color accuracy, it’s important to prepare your artwork correctly before uploading. Below are the file setup requirements for the best printing results at SID DTF.

 ✅ Accepted File Formats

Preferred Format: PNG (with transparent background)

Other Accepted Formats: PDF, TIFF, or PSD

Avoid low-quality JPEGs or screenshots — they can result in blurry prints.

 🎨 Resolution (DPI)

All files must be at 300 DPI (dots per inch) for sharp, detailed prints.

Lower resolutions may appear pixelated or fuzzy when printed.

🌈 Color Mode

Use RGB color mode for the most accurate and vibrant color output.

Do not convert files to CMYK — DTF printers are optimized for RGB.

 Backgrounds

Ensure all designs have a transparent background.

Remove any unwanted white or solid color backgrounds before uploading.

📏 Size & Dimensions

Create your design in the exact print size you want.

Avoid stretching or resizing once uploaded — this may distort quality.

For Gang Sheets, use our Free DTF Gang Sheet Builder to perfectly arrange your designs before checkout.

⚙️ Bleed & Margins

Keep at least 0.25 inches of safe margin around your design.

Avoid placing important elements near the edges.

🧾 File Naming

Use clear names like brand_logo.png or shirt_design_front.png.

Avoid using special characters (%, $, #, etc.) in file names.

🚫 Common Issues to Avoid

Blurry or pixelated artwork

Wrong color mode (CMYK instead of RGB)

Backgrounds not removed

Low-resolution or compressed files
